Baby Bug :)

I seem to know quite a few pregnant women. I was recently put in charge of the expecting mother's ministry at church so that is making me even more aware of pregnant women. Additionally, three bloggers that I follow are pregnant and my BFF is trying to GET pregnant.

It gets a girl thinkin'...... (Haha, I can actually hear my husband's blood pressure rising!!)

There are SO many pros and cons to having your kids close together, far apart, etc. One thing I have been considering is how LONG my house is going to look like a toy store threw up in it! If we don't have another baby for a couple years and then another one a couple years after that (the third child is still in the negotiation process with the hubs...I plan on conquering him in this subject but we'll see!!), then it is going to be 10 years (literally) before my home isn't a baby-proofed, toy infested haven that it is right at this very moment! However....there are cons to having them close together in my opinion too. Let's examine this subject, shall we? *Disclaimer...these are just MY opinions for MY personal life, I could care less how far apart other people's children are. These opinions apply to ME in MY life!*
Why it's tempting to have another baby SOONER vs. LATER
1) The "Get 'Er Done" factor. Pregnancy takes a toll on your body that is for sure and the sooner you are done with babies, the sooner you can start the lifetime repair process!
2) Sweet siblings that are close enough in age to play together, and more importantly, dress up like twins!!!
3) I miss those sweet newborn cuddles.
4) It sounds strange but I even miss nursing and the amazing bonding time that entails.
5) I am SO excited to see Emersyn interact with a little brother or sister.
6) I LOVED being pregnant and can't wait for that experience again.
7) I am not getting any younger. :)
Why it's more realistic for me to wait at least a year or two (can you hear my husband's sigh of relief??)
1) My heart desires to not work outside the home when we have another baby so there is a logistics issue that needs to be adressed and we are trusting the Lord for that to happen in 2010!
2) I want to get healthy before getting pregnant again.
3) I LOVE my special times with Emersyn and know how precious they are. Another child will be a tremendous blessing but I think I want to soak up a little more of my sweet monkey girl before adding to our clan.
4) Emersyn will need to be transitioned to a big girl bed so our next baby can use her crib.
How random was this post?? I just have babies on the brain and needed to write out my thoughts. :) This is such a fun season of life to be in, thank you Lord! Happy Tuesday!

Awww, this was sweet. I have the baby bug too, and I'm totally with the Get 'er Done mentality. Ideally I'd like to have 4 kids by the time I'm 30. That would put them all 2-2 1/2 years apart, which I think is perfect. That way hubby can retire and we'll traipse all over the world and our children will be able to take care of themselves. (hehe!) Plus, considering Hubs is 8 years my senior, I don't think he wants to be 40 and still changing a newborns diaper. Not that it isn't done, but ya know. So anyway, yes. We're aiming for this summer. I did NOT enjoy pregnancy, and neither did pregnancy enjoy me, so we're just praying that pre-e and all that nastiness stays away the next few times.
I say go for it. :) Life is short. Children are a heritage. Bring on the babies!

Lots of excellent points on both sides. However, Emersyn doesn't have to be in a big girl bed before you have another baby. :) We're using a bassinet and a Pack N Play for Rachel right now. If she outgrows those before we feel like Ellen is ready for a big bed, we'll buy a used crib off Craigslist and then sell it a few months later when we're done with it. Don't let that hold you back! That being said, it really is such a personal, individual decision. No matter what you do, it's the right thing if it is right for you. Good luck!

Friend! For selfish reasons, I would LOVE for you to have another baby! I love me some squishy babies to smooch!

That said, you make very valid points for both sides of the discussion. And just remember, the Lord will tell you when it's time.

And when it's time, I'm sure it will be "magical". Haha! Just had to throw that in there! ;o)

We have to decided to let nature take its course, meaning we have never used bc. I admit I am impatient, but I know there are reasons and if it makes you feel better, from the research I have done 2.5 years to 3 years is a really great spacing for children. Remember it takes a body 18-months-to heal from pregnancy and birth and multiple pregnancies on top of each other will only increase the toll it takes. Also, I had a loooong bout of morning sickness and would have a hard time chasing after a crazy active boy, so I am glad nature has given me some time to enjoy my little guy. Now that I said all that, ha ha, I am definitely ready, my husband is ready and Jameson is fantastic older brother material. Crossing my fingers for 2010.

I'm not even married and I always have babies/being pregnant on the mind. I can only imagine how bad it is for you! :)

Hi!- Found you from Keelys blog. Your mind sounds like mine! I already have two but am up for one more. Not a good time right now but someday I hope. Seeing all these preggo mommies and newborns in the bloggy world makes it much harder!

My two are three years apart(girl and boy) and I have to say I am so happy to have had all that time with my baby girl, wouldn't want it any other way!

Good luck!

Oh, how I love young moms! Especially because I get to love on them and their babies! Either way... it sounds like a win-win!
