Getting to Know You! :)

I still find myself blogging daily since the NaBloPoMo challenge ended last month....it is a habit now. I guess it is true what they say, do something for long enough and it becomes routine or habit! I have a cup of coffee in hand, the fire's on, a sappy Lifetime movie in the background and the sound of my naughty toddler in her crib through the monitor, resisting her much needed nap.

Keely @ MannLand5 is hosting a Sunday blog hop of getting to know you questions. Since I have acquired some new blog friends recently, it is always nice to get to know each other better, don't you agree?

1. How old are you?
28...will be 29 in February.....my last birthday in my 20's. WOW.

2.Where are you from and where do you live now?
Born in Granada Hills, CA. From there moved to NV, CO, OR, AZ, and then back to OR. Finally settled in Portland, OR when I was about 8 and have lived here ever since. Currently live in Hillsboro, OR....suburb of Portland.
I love the Pacific Northwest!!

3. What music have you been diggin lately?
CHRISTMAS MUSIC!!!! :) Other then holiday music, I love country (not the super twangy stuff) and worship music (Hillsong, United Live, Etc.)

4. Favorite food(s)?
Oh man, carbs are the enemy....but they are my favorite. That is something that is going to change though with the new year. The Jensen's are going gluten free, for health reasons. Still researching this subject, will keep you posted.

5. Single,married, divorced?
Happily married to my best friend who bought ConnectFour at Target on Friday and now insists on best out of four tournaments each night. I love him.

6. Kids? If so, how many and how old?
One sweet 15 month old little monkey named Emersyn Grace.

7. What are 3 blogs you read daily?
Oh man, I read more then three. See my blog roll on the side. I love reading my friends blogs, both virtual and in real life. It's such a great way to keep in touch!

8. What is your favorite Christmas/Holiday tradition?
Egg nog, Christmas movies, going to see Christmas lights, singing Christmas carols at church, celebrating the birthday of our Lord.

9. Lastly, if you're a blogger, how long have you been blogging and if you don't have one..how long have you been reading blogs?
I have been blogging since Brett and I got married actually, so for a little over 6 years. I had a xanga blog but started THIS blog when we found out Emersyn's gender in April of 2008. It is such a great way to journal Emersyn's development as a child and my development as a woman and mother!

Do you hear that??? Nothing but Emersyn's lullaby CD coming through the monitor. *happy sigh* Happy Sunday everyone!!

Good job on keeping up the daily blogging! If we hadn't been cooped up inside all weekend, I might have managed to blog. I still find myself saying, is this a blogging opportunity...ha ha. I cannot even begin to tell you how much healthier we feel since going gluten-free. It isn't carbs that are the enemy so much as refined, wheat-based carbs that seem to be difficult to digest. We still eat lots of carbs, just in whole grain form, think Quinoa, brown rice, Amaranth, Millet...etc. Good luck! We have found there to be steps forward and those definite steps backward. It makes eating out very difficult, but there are a few restaurants that really understand the gluten issue. Outback is one that comes to mind. G-Free diet by Elisabeth Hasselbeck is actually a good jumping off point.

As I always say, I love reading these little questionnaires. It sounds like you had a wonderful Sunday. :) I am such a fan of all of the Christmas traditions you listed. I love Eggnog, but haven't been introduced to the "apparent" wonders [totally not my description, haha] of Eggnog with rum. I guess, according to my boyfriend's mom, I just have to this Christmas. Let a new tradition begin, eh? :)

The northwest is one of the only regions of the country that I've never visited, so it holds a "mystique" for me!
