We had a great weekend of course, Grammy and Grandpa are here and when they are, good times are had by all!!!
Here are some highlights:
Friday we went to coffee with two very special people, Pastor Bill and Joy Wilson, former Senior Pastor's of our church. Pastor Bill escorted me down the aisle as a 5th grader for my Missionette's crowning (like a Christian Girl Scouts) when my dad was out of town. He was also one of the Pastor's that performed our wedding ceremony. Joy has always been a special part of our lives and did our pre-marriage counseling (and a little post-marriage counseling, ha!). It was very fun having coffee with them and my parents and they really enjoyed Emersyn. They got some snuggles in and Emersyn even gave out a couple kisses!

Friday evening we went to my parents favorite Chinese resteraunt, Golden Crown. I didn't like this place as a kid at all but have grown to love it as an adult. Our good family friend Julie joined us for dinner. She is Emersyn's Tia, she has so many Aunties that we decided to give Julie a special Auntie name since she is a very special part of our lives. Friday night was tough since my dad was leaving in the morning, none of us wanted to go to bed! I always start to get misty eyed the night before I have to say goodbye.
Saturday morning we took my dad to the airport. Saying goodbye is always so hard for me, not matter how rational I try to be. I know that people move, it happens. I am so happy that my dad has the means to travel and visit us. I am happy that he is in good health and has a wonderful job. But I so desperately wish he could be involved in my daughters life more and that is what is crushing. I was a mess Saturday morning but luckily my mom is in town another week so that helped. So far, I won't see my dad again until late September when we meet up in Hawaii. I am hoping to sneak away in July to see them in MN though. We'll see. Emersyn is getting to a tricky age for travelling. Gone are her sleepy snuggly days on the plane. :)

Some new and random Emersyn facts:
*She can now wave (sort of). It is really really cute, you just wave at her and she gets this puzzled look like she is thinking to herself, "how is she doing that?!?!" and then she starts to wave her arms. SO cute. My mom has been teaching her while she has been here.
*She is cutting another tooth, on the BOTTOM! I assumed she would get one on top next since she already has two bottom teeth. Poor baby, teething is no fun!
*She is really starting to become a big eater and loves solid foods. So far we have given her sweet potatos, pears, peach banana oatmeal, bananas, green beans (not a huge fan), peas (again not a huge fan), carrots (not a huge fan), and applesauce. She also eats rice cereal and oatmeal cereal, although she definitely prefers the rice to the oatmeal. I made my first puree of carrots the other night and she didn't care for them at all. I put in a little applesauce to sweeten them up a but and make the consistency a little runnier and I thought they tasted good but my entire family judged me and said they tasted nasty. What do they know?!? :)
