This last week we spent most our time trying to get ready to paint the nursery on Memorial Day. Brett's parents had offered to help us and we wanted to find a day that we were ALL off and that can be hard to find. Luckily, Memorial Day came just in time.
Our nursery decorating plans have changed quite a bit. We were going to do a chair rail but decided that since the room is on the smaller side, it might look to "busy". We decided to do one wall of stripes and then rest of the room green. It is so bright and cheery. The stripes were VERY tricky to do because our walls are textured and the paint tends to bleed through even the best of painters tape. But my husband is pretty handy and did some research on the internet and found a technique that seemed to work and for the most part it did.
This is the green color. It looks a lot more "lime" colored in the picture but really is more of a bright grass green color. I love how it makes all the white woodwork really pop.
Working on the stripes.
Ta-da!!! Almost finished, just have one stripe on the left to finish up. We are about 90% done with the painting portion of the nursery and I am really happy about that! I am not a huge fan of painting, even though I love the results!! :)
Next on the list, get the carpets cleaned and then we can put together the crib. I already started to put away some of her clothes though...
I can't wait to see her little face in all these clothes!!!
We leave for our California trip in TWO weeks from Friday! I am so tired just thinking about it but I know it will be great and rewarding.
Happy Memorial Day week!!
