And actually there is an 11-year old who is dying to come to the party and just gave me the countdown of days until the party!

I love your reasons about giving and receiving gifts. I LOOOOOOOVE buying little girly gifts since I do not have a little girly of my own. It fills a need for me! Thanks for giving me the opportunity!sister sherihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13825231117150295794noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7591308797413006520.post-12020259023614214562010-08-07T13:59:30.491-07:002010-08-07T13:59:30.491-07:00I hope you have a great time planning little Emers...I hope you have a great time planning little Emersyn's party! That is honestly the highlight of my year and I'm so excited that next year I will have 2 parties to plan.

I'm all about a bargain, too. And I don't think it matters what we pay for a gift as long as it is given in the right spirit!

I can't wait to see pictures from her party!Rachelhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01890458738975933636noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7591308797413006520.post-68176172410231982592010-08-05T20:23:18.417-07:002010-08-05T20:23:18.417-07:00I can't believe it's already almost her bi...I can't believe it's already almost her birthday! I remember reading your blog around this time last year, so crazy how time flies.

Totally understand/agree with you about presents. I always struggle with not wanting people to feel like they HAVE to get a gift..and, I fill my gift closet with bargains so I always have a b.d/Christmas gift handy. That's just being smart! :) Happy party planning, wish we could be there. :)LeAnnahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10360378882035668129noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7591308797413006520.post-9147762023961966562010-08-05T14:30:53.465-07:002010-08-05T14:30:53.465-07:00I can't believe she's going to be TWO!!! I hate our cheap little ones-she can fit them in her mouth!

Good for you on cooking dinner for everyone, I'm sure they'll appreciate that.

Thanks for your sweet comment!
JessOurLittleBlessingShttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00750860192957580697noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7591308797413006520.post-71320144480517551272010-08-05T13:56:53.906-07:002010-08-05T13:56:53.906-07:00I remember how big I thought she looked at her par...I remember how big I thought she looked at her party last year. But looking back at those pictures she was so little still. Excited to be able to share in her birthday again this year.
Oh... and by the way the youngest baby that will be there will not be a few months old but negative two weeks old... just saying.
RachelleAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7591308797413006520.post-19608236662876421662010-08-05T13:34:58.244-07:002010-08-05T13:34:58.244-07:00I am so excited to see pictures from her party. Yo...I am so excited to see pictures from her party. You do such an amazing job.
I like you take on gifts. I don't think that anyone would ever think you invited them just to get a gift. While the boys got LOTS at their party they were all things that we have used lots. Summer outdoor toys, clothes, etc. It was a major blessing. I too think of who gave us each item.
As a mom to 3 I love to buy things for other parties as well. I almost feel awkward showing up to a party without at least something little even if it says no gifts.Melissa (5M Creations)https://www.blogger.com/profile/09303433535603423258noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7591308797413006520.post-9673267026863277292010-08-05T09:31:06.374-07:002010-08-05T09:31:06.374-07:00She is too cute! Ya know?

Your heart is right about birthdays. I'm the same way. I often have get togethers for my birthday now as an adult. It's real casual & i tell them no gifts, b/c really i just want to spend my bday with my friends. Those i love. That's all.

Sounds the same for you with Emersyn. People you envision knowing y'all for a lifetime! That is great! And i know you wouldn't be mad if someone didn't bring a gift! LOL. B/c that is not why you are having the party. Anyone who thinks it is will know the truth when they get to know you better. :)Melissahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14815407660365883762noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7591308797413006520.post-39676182917734319542010-08-05T08:31:07.366-07:002010-08-05T08:31:07.366-07:00It goes SO fast!! Kevin and I have agreed that he doesn't need a birthday party until he is 5 except for family parties. I think I may do something on an invitation that say something to the extent of: In lieu of presents, please donate to *such-and-such* charity depending on party theme. Mostly that is because I am working so hard on becoming organized and clutter-free that so many new toys would throw me for a loop!

My favorite gifts I love to give are hardcover books with quality stories and pictures, perhaps with an award or two. I put a book plate inside with an inscription so the child knows always who it was from and the year they received it. I still have books from my childhood with inscriptions and I love reading them!Aimeehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00756488774000631366noreply@blogger.com
